Live in Quebec City 2006

but

... The show must go on...

It was a great show, despite all the weird factors playing against the day: the freezing weather, Trent's illness, the less than packed audience. It would have been great if we would have had better knowledge of where to go and what to do for the Spiral tickets, everyone we talked to was in the same situation, no one had a clue what was going on with where we're supposed to line up or when the tickets were gonna show.

I'm glad we were able to get the show on the scheduled day, we drove up from Moncton, NB to see NIN, an 8 hour trip. Many thanks for not making the road trip a waste of time, seriously.

Jeordie spent a lot of time playing around with the audience, right when the show began someone held up a sign saying "We Love You Jeordie in all your Evolution", with pictures of him in different bands. At one point he figured out he could blind everyone in the front row by reflecting light from a projector off his bass, could clearly see he was having fun with that.

Great job guys, even if Trent was not feeling well, we appreciate it nonetheless. Thanks again for another great show.

PS -Oh yeah, I was in front row right in front of Jeordie, there was a girl right behind me that I helped get up front. We talked about how the band seemed to be playing a little slower than in Montreal. She was pretty short with short black hair and her coat around her waist, just wanted to find out if you were on these boards and just say hi.

We pulled Halifax to Quebec City in 10 hours, it was pretty smooth the whole way. We called the Colisee several times in NB to make sure the show was still on. I was extremely happy with the setlist (Mr. Self Destruct, Sin, Please, Reptile) and thought the band compensated for Trent's lack of energy. Poor guy. Aaron North is a crazy motherfucker though, and Josh's drumming was impecible. The sound couldn't have been better, espically the heavy heavy guitars for Mr Self Destruct (Allasandro on guitar) and Reptile.

The soundcheck was Piggy, Please and Reptile...I was upset we couldn't go in and see it. Such a fucking tease to hear your favourite band playing your favourite songs in the room next to you.

I have about 400 pictures from section 9, and a couple videos. Links will be coming shortly. Many thanks to the Spiral people for convincing security to let my camera in!!! We had a fucking blast despite the setbacks and close calls.

Trent is still sick. He was wearing a scarf and drinking LOTS of water. When he talked to us a bit we could also hear it... But still he gave a pretty good performance!!! I enjoyed the gig. Not as much as the Montreal one. But still! It was about 90 minutes long. All in one go, no encore. I'll have a bigger review, pics and who knows maybe some audio later on. My ears are buzzing...

Thanks to Trent for not postponing the gig!!!!!! Get well soon!!!

Incredible show !

The setist was awesome, but i loved the Montreal show a little bit more because it was the first time i saw them and the crowd was bigger and the setlist a little bit longer. Trent was really sick but still delivered a great performance.

But yesterday night was really amazing too ! The setlist was more oldschool than the one in Montreal. A lot less of With Teeth songs than usual. I'm so glad they played Mr Self-Destruct and Reptile (really LOUD) !

The crowd was small but really loud and energetic. The band seemed to enjoy it. Trent apologized because he was still really sick, he thanked us to coming out and said that we are a kickass audience right before the beging of Hurt. Oh and Aaron is really a crazy motherfucker ! He was out of control, he jumped in the crowd during March of The Pig and beat the crap out of his guitar at the end.

Saul Williams really surprised me. He have a awesome stage presence and a lot of charisma. I really enjoyed his set. He played for aproximatively 30 minutes.

So that was my review, does somebody have some pics of the show ? Thank you
